INTERNATIONAL JING FANG CONFERENCE
We are pleased to announce that will be hosting the first ever International Jing Fang Conference in September to October 2018. We all had the same vision; to bring the tradition of Classical Herbalism forward to modern-day healthcare. With expertise in education, supply chain, marketing and research, we have been able to combine our skills to organise an incredible and comprehensive event dedicated to Jing Fang.
WHAT IS JING FANG?
Jing Fang 经方 or Classical Chinese medicine is a system which identifies patterns according to the Six Channels which was first described by master Zhang Zhongjing 张仲景 in the Shanghan Lun 伤寒论 (Treatise on Cold Damage). Jing Fang has been developed as it’s own school of thought within Chinese medicine and is based upon using simple ingredients and light dosages. This method has captivated many practitioners in the West due to its vast clinical effectiveness. In addition, we categorise symptoms according to the Eight Guiding Principles: Yin and Yang; Exterior and Interior; Heat and Cold; and lastly Deficiency and Excess. Using this system, we are able to recognise the root cause and treat the patient, and not just the disease itself.
WHY SHOULD I ATTEND THE CONFERENCE?
In the West, Chinese medicine is an undervalued practice that is not provided through our primary healthcare systems and therefore, training is limited. However, we want to change that. Together, we have been able to organise a comprehensive 8-day event which is composed of two full conference days and six CPD course days. The CPD courses have been split into English and Chinese, to maximise the learning potential of each class.
We’ve secured 10 of the world’s most well known Jing Fang teachers including Professor Huang Huang and Professor Feng Shilun. For the first time in history, these world-class academics will be gathering under one roof to teach us their knowledge that they have accumulated over years of unprecedented practice.
We strongly recommend that all delegates attend the two conference days which give you an insight into each and every keynote speaker’s style and exclusive methods in Jing Fang. Our CPD courses give you a chance to learn with our teachers on a more personal level and with much more depth. As it’s a rare opportunity to have the privilege of learning from our keynote speakers, we recommend that you attend as many CPD courses as possible.

PROFESSOR HUANG HUANG – JING FANG BODY CONSTITUTION DIFFERENTIATION & CLINICAL APPLICATION
This 3-day course is perfect for practitioners who are new to Jing Fang or herbal medicine. We welcome all herbalists and even acupuncturists without any prior knowledge in herbal medicine. Jing Fang is an excellent way to learn herbal medicine as its methods are very straightforward. Jing Fang is similar to conventional medicine in the way that it treats disease. However, Jing Fang delves much deeper by analysing each patient’s body constitution (body type, inherited health, acquired health and their current state of health), the six-channels and also the eight-principles to determine which formula should be assigned for treatment. You will learn how to differentiate body constitutional types and also how to assign the appropriate formulas. Professor Huang Huang is well-known for his captivating teaching style and students find his lectures enjoyable to learn. He will teach in a step-by-step manner to ensure that students can learn effectively. You will also learn recommended dosages, as well as hearing about Prof. Huang’s experiences in TCM.
Please note that this course is recommended to practitioners who are fairly new to Jing Fang. We have a selection of more advanced courses available during the same week, which focus on certain disease types such as Auto-immune diseases, Respiratory diseases, Infertility and Blood Stasis.
ABOUT THIS LECTURE
Jing Fang and Acupuncture are the most valuable treasures of Classical Chinese Medicine. Jing Fang 经方, or Classic Formulas, is a method that has been used for over 1000 years and does so by using natural ingredients. The clinical application of Jing Fang focuses on prescribing formulas which correspond to syndromes. Due to the obscure content from classical textbooks, it is often difficult to reveal the secrets of Jing Fang applications. Prof. Huang Huang is passionate about Jing Fang research and clinical application and has spent decades generating a simplified method for the use of Jing Fang. His theory of body constitution differentiation is based on clinical applications, it is very logical and repeatable. It has attracted enormous attention globally.
It is a great honour to host this 3-day course with Prof. Huang to this event. In this course, we will focus on the most commonly used formulae: Huang Qi Family, Ban Xia Family and Gan Cao Family. These formulae are commonly used to treat diabetes, cardiovascular diseases, emotional symptoms, auto-immune diseases, digestive diseases, as well as oncology treatments. Prof. Huang will explain those formulae in thorough detail and teach us how to understand the study method of Jing Fang application. He will also provide his most useful Jing Fang clinical cases, which will help us gain the confidence to put Jing Fang into practice.
Professor Huang welcomes Acupuncturists who want to expand into herbal medicine. To quote him – “If you take Acupuncture and Moxibustion in one hand, and Jing Fang in the other, you will be a famous Chinese Medicine Practitioner!”
