With a strong passion to promote Classical Chinese Herbal Formulas, we are proud to be working with Jing Fang Institute of Nanjing University of Chinese Medicine in China, and Five Branches University in USA, to offer a complete Jing Fang diploma program in the UK.
Jing Fang (Classical Herbalism) is a system of herbal medicine which distinguishes patterns of symptoms according to the Six Channels. The Six Channels was first defined in the famous Shang Han Lun text 伤寒论 (Treatise on Cold Damage), written by Master Zhang Zhongjing 张仲景 in approximately 200 AD. Jing Fang has been developed into its own style, apart from mainstream Traditional Chinese Medicine. Jing Fang practice has yielded successful results for many herbalists in the UK and Europe due to its quick clinical efficacy, which requires only simple ingredients and light dosages. The idea of Jing Fang is to observe patterns between symptoms of the disease and inherited, past and the current state of health to assign appropriate treatment. It differs from TCM in the way that you will learn the functions of formula families, instead of individual herbs.
If you’re an Acupuncturist, we highly recommend that you take this route into Herbal Medicine as it’s a systematic and easy to learn system. As the famed Jing Fang Master, Huang Huang once said “With one hand taking Acupuncture and Moxibustion, and in the other hand, taking Jing Fang, you will be a famous Chinese Medicine Practitioner!”
The course has 4 modules, and is featured by weekend classroom teaching, virtual tutorials, guided self-study and clinic practice to optimize your professional practice with classical Chinese herbal medicine.
This is part-time flexible course tailored for practitioners, students who have graduated from an accredited course or have completed or are doing a training course in conventional or complementary medicine, and people who are interested in Jing Fang study.
