Phoenix Academy is extremely proud to welcome Dr Wei Cheih Young and Dr Michael Chong to host the ‘Complete Course of Tung’s Acupuncture’ from Thursday 14th June 2018 until Sunday 17th June 2018. Master Tung has been referred to as ‘the greatest acupuncture master who ever lived’.
Master Tung Ching-Chang was born in the Shangdong Province, in Northern China and was famous for the miraculous results he would obtain using just a few needles. From 1953 to 1975, he treated over 40,000 patients.
Master Tung’s points were a treasured family secret, handed down and refined over many generations. He was the first to break his family tradition and began to teach his acupuncture system to outsiders. He selected 73 students to teach, one of which was Dr Wei Chieh Young.
Master Tung personally left behind only one book, ‘Tung’s Regular Meridan and Points’. However, the book only briefly introduced some of his most commonly used points and the illustrations lacked clarity, it also provided no information on theoretical principles. The book was later discontinued.
Dr Young has since spent his career creating and developing countless books, including; ‘Master Tung’s Acupuncture Corresponding Needling Method’ to increase the effectiveness and application of Tung’s theories. He has also spent decades teaching and sharing his disciple to teach many students and now we are fortunate enough to have him in the UK sharing his teachings with us.
After studying Tung’s acupuncture which has been continually expanding and developing by Dr Young, the acupuncture practitioners will not only be able to understand its connotation but also greatly expand their understanding of the original “14 meridians” system and in-depth application.
This 4-day course is to systematically elaborate the principle and technique of Tung Acupuncture. It is the best way to start for those who have not studied Tung Acupuncture before. For the practitioners who have already studied Tung Acupuncture, it will lead you to move from the level of “knowing it” to the level of “knowing why” and to achieve the effective way for improving and upgrading your technique.
The course will be taught in Chinese. However, we are fortunate enough to have Dr Michael Chong translating the entire course. Dr Chong’s translation promises to be clear, precise and extremely accurate after many years studying and translating Dr Young’s teachings.
